Blessed Hibernation!!!! I refer to this time of the year as the beginning of our Winter hibernation, although it is Fall.....Think about Mother Earth, the Animals, Trees, etc. The bears are in finally in hibernation, the Bear Dance Ceremonies & Bear Lodges have been completed, Bears put to slumber & blessed for the Winter as well as the 4 leggeds. Squirells are done hoarding & have gone into their nests/dens, the Blujays passed through, and geese are on the last leg of their journey as well. So we should be too! I speak of hibernation alot, and the energies leading up to this point in time that help us release what we do not want to bring into our hibernation to impede our rest & slow growth until Spring. We have just celebrated Samhain, the time to commune, bless & be blessed by our Ancestors. It is to them we look for strength, and ask to support us in letting go of residual aspects of theirs that we have hung onto this lifetime. We are the ones to break those patterns & release those burdens that they once carried, that still settle in our bones & DNA. We do not need any of that anymore-especially resonating with any of that old Ancestral baggage that they do not want us to carry further. Let it go, it is time, just let it go. Ask them for support during meditation, they will know what to do, they are here to assist us in energetic form, this is their role in our lives now, so that we don't have the same struggles they once had. The veil is thin, and I am sure you all feel it one way or another-visitations, dreams, during ceremony, wisps of air passing along your skin, thoughts that you would never think about, and my favorite-music! Among many other ways they will support you during this time of the year. What is currently on your Altar? The theme for this month is obviously Ancestral, with the use of Crystal Skulls, photos or belongings of your Ancestors, dried or fresh flowers-Marigolds, Sunflowers, yellow or white Roses, Frankinscense & Mhyrr and Copal (all are resins, burn slow and are for clarity, protection & clearing) in a small bowl or perhaps a container that once belonged to an ancestor (i use an etched crystal small salt bowl of my Great Grandmother's).Place these in the North side of your altar, or you make your entire Altar filled with these things. In the South placement of mine, I have a dragon for a deep underground smoldering hot fire, Thoth for creative & writing work, Vanandinite for clarity, patience, stability, meditation and stamina for deep & sustaining creative work. In the West point of my altar I have more winter & hearty seashells-mussles, fossilized shells, ocean rocks-all for the solid & strong frequency they emit, to further sustain & stablize my emotions for the work that is coming. In the East placement I have my Owl totem, Labradorite Angel Wings, and Celestite for air & higher wisdom for my connection with the winged ones. I keep my Altar very simple during the Fall/Winter months, mainly because it is a time of sparseness & hibernation, but also because I know that I am simmering many prjects just under the surface and they will stay there until the Spring. For me it is a time of slow & deliberate work so I will not waste my energy, a time of allowing myself to heat slowly from the inside out, and a time of refelection instead of disctraction. In the center of my Altar, I make a simple grid of a Mahogany Obsidian tower of gratitude for all that I have manifested this year, surrounded by Kyanite and Peace crystal in Amethyst for deep Spiritual connection to my inner peace-this is what I bring into my hibernation this year.
